Panasonic has announced a new mirrorless, interchangeable lens compact digital camera, called the Lumix DMC-GF5, considered the successor to the Lumix DMC-GF3.
Powered by a 12.1MP Live Mos sensor and the company’s Venus image engine, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF5 interchangeable lens camera has a 12,800 maximum ISO sensitivity. It comes with a new 920K-dot LCD display, coupled with a new resolution optimized, touch-based interface.
The Lumix DMC-GF5 will ship with the F3.5-5.6 ASPH Panasonic G X Vario PZ 14-42mm lens, featuring motorized zoom and focus levers. A 14-42mm manual-zoom lens, and a 14mm pancake lens are also expected to be available.
The Panansonic Lumix DMC-GF5 bears a larger rubber handgrip than the GF3 on its anodized metal different body. It delivers RAW shooting, along with a 3D still MP0 images feature (using the optional Panasonic 3D lens). It offers a 4 frames per second full-resolution burst mode.
Featuring an inbuilt stereo microphone, the GF5 has no hot-shoe or mic-in port. It can shoot video at 1080i 60 fps in AVCHD, or 1080p 30 fps in MP4. For now, no pricing information for the Panansonic Lumix DMC-GF5 is available yet, or a launch date.
